A wonderfully written diary of the first trip down the Colorado River for purely recreational, in-search-of-adventure purposes. George Flavell was a guy's guy, well versed in the wilderness, and all things water. In the mid-1890's he and a buddy had the idea, took a train to Green River, Wyoming, built their boat in a week and proceeded to run the entire river to the Gulf of California. He was first to run a flat bottomed boat using oars with the oarsman facing downstream. Their only portage in the Grand Canyon was Soap Creek! He was a humble man with a good sense of humor and it certainly comes through in this great documentation of their trip. A must read for any fan of the Colorado River and it's history. Anyone who's heart has been captured by river adventures in desert canyons will love this book!

Astounding, entertaining, often amusing account of an adventurer's first recreational descent of the Green and Colorado rivers, through the tumultuous Lodore, Cataract, and Grand canyons, in a 15-1/2 foot wooden boat, in 1896. This "log," or journal was kept contemporaneously in handwritten notes (some of which are reproduced) as the journey progressed from one series of rapids and trepidations to the next. Informatively edited and elucidatingly annotated by the formidable team of Carmony and Brown, the book is illustrated with historical photos, and includes an impressive bibliography. This is "must" reading for anyone who works or plays on these rivers, and ought to be in the dry bag of every river tourist.

So far seems very detailed with strategy for test taking explained well. Be sure to email them for the free dvd.Update 8/17/18:Information on the subtests is not accurate to current test. Not even 5% of the information is even presented on the actual exam. Changing review to 1 *

This study guide is comprehensive, super comprehensive lol. Not in a bad way though. Many of the topics covered were a flashback to high school. Things I never thought I'd need again. I'll be taking the exam next week. I'm aware that I may miss a few, but after studying with this guide for the past few weeks I feel confident that I'll make the grade I'm aiming for. Thank you guys for putting this together!

This study guide was useful as it went further than just supplying practice questions and format answers. By going more in depth into the structure of the questions, I feel more prepared for the AFOQT, even if the questions on the actual test look different.

Great book!This book is NOW OUT OF DATE! There are sections in here that are NOT on the AFOQT.Used this to prep, among other materials, and received a decent score. Well above the minimums.I would recommend this book.

I think that this book is great! I loved the explanations at the end of each practice test. It gave me a better understanding as to why I got answers wrong and what I need to do next time to get the answer right! I learned a lot in 2 weeks! I would recommend this book to anyone who is trying to become an officer in the Air Force.

I'm not impressed by it. I bought a Kaplan Prep+ book for the ASVAB and it came with flash cards, online test prep and tutorials. This, which cost the same, came with a book that's half the size and nothing else. They say the AFOQT is the ASVAB on steroids but this book doesn't give me that impression.

Mometrix is closest to the actual test (yellow and black book). I worked through every page of this one, Kaplan, Mometrix, and Apex.

It is a well written book. It is worth the money. What you'll find is that it tells you how to enter the world of concepts but it does not give a methodological break down. If you do not remember how to work equations it would be helpful to use this book with another such as trivuum; trivuum does an excellent job (also 4 stars) but focuses on different types of questions.
