Although this is my very first time buying a how-to-speak-Italian ebook from this company, I am very familiar with this company’s Spanish language products, after purchasing several products from them, including Learn Beginner Spanish.This ebook has the same downside as the ebook for their Learn Beginner Spanish. And that’s the fact that there is absolutely no way that anyone can learn Italian or any other foreign language just by reading a transcript (i.e. ebook). I found this ebook as well as the Learn Beginner Spanish ebook to be of little or no benefit. And that’s putting it nicely. That’s the downside.The upside is that this is not just an ebook. It is actually an audio book that includes 5 audio Italian lessons that are included at no additional cost. That’s the reason I have chosen to give this book a 5-star review instead of 1-star review (which I would have done without hesitation if the 5 audio lessons had not been included). Each of the 5 audio lesson provides roughly 30 minutes of Italian lessons. For me, to be able to get the audio without making an additional purchase is truly a bargain. They also only use native Italian speakers in the audio lessons to help make sure the learner develops an Italian accent with a very natural and authentic sound. One more thing that stands out about their programs is that the engaging and interactive method really helps you to think in a foreign language.When studying Spanish there was a problem that I’ve had for many years. Every time a Spanish speaker would speak to me or if I watching a Spanish language program on TV, I would try to translate every Spanish phrase that I heard in my head. Which obviously wasn’t too effective because by the time I’d finish translating a phrase in my head, the Spanish speaker is already finishing another phrase or two. But the interactive method used in both their Spanish and Italian programs really encourages me to actually “think” in a foreign language instead of trying to mentally translate from English into Italian.My final advice is to get this “ebook.” Go straight to the page in the ebook that tells you how to download the mp3 audio lessons. Then forget all about the ebook, and just use the audio lessons to learn how to speak Italian. If you follow these instructions, I think you’ll be very happy with your purchase.

This is a very effective method to learn a foreign language. I have used several of this same company's programs to learn a foreign language. Started out with their Spanish program and enjoyed the method so much I am now trying to learn Italian with their method.The best thing about the method is that it is so engaging. There are so many programs that are purely based on listening and repeating. Not this program. Although listening and repeating is involved in their learning method (how else would you learn proper pronunciation and listening comrehension), the crux of the program is to get you thinking in the target language and to get you speaking it as quickly as possible. I am not the type of person who can learn a language just by repeating a bunch of random phrases. Which is what a lot of programs do. But not in this program. In this program, the instructor keeps you engaged. And that's why this program overshadows the others.By the way, don't make the same mistake a friend of mine made. I recommended this program to her and she only ordered the ebook transcript. You really need to get the audio program either here at Amazon or Audible otherwise you are just wasting your time.Title: The Most Engaging Way To Learn A Language

After experiencing a couple of learning-Spanish products from the same author, I thought I'd give this program a try. So far, I'm loving it. I just finished the first lesson. My plan is to repeat each lesson three times before moving on to the next lesson. In the first lesson, I learned how to conjugate the verb "parlare" (to speak) and say phrases in Italian such as "io parlo" (I speak) and "tu parli" (you speak), "lui parla," (he speaks), "lei parla" (she speaks), "noi parliamo," (we speak), "loro parlano" (they speak). I also learned how to conjugate the Italian verb "camminare" in this lesson - which means “to walk.” Since I am truly a beginner with Italian, I am really pleased with the progress that I am making already. I intentionally avoid the transcripts because I think avoiding them really helps with learning proper pronunciation and developing listening skills in Italian.

I am very happy with my purchase and not only the quantity of Italian I'm learning but also the quantity that I am learning. The Italian that I'm learning from this program is without a doubt useful conversational Italian. The only complaint I have is that I have to buy all of the authors products individually which gets expensive after a while. The authors would do their customers a huge favor by creating "bundles" of their programs. By packaging their products in "bundles" or box sets, it would be a lot more affordable for me to buy them.The link to the audiobook is in the ebook. What stands out about these lessons is that the teaching method really cements what you learn in your head. They're not using some mechanical method to force you to memorize a bunch of Italian words and phrases that you'll soon forget. I am actually learning how to think in Italian. And I haven't even started to write about how much my accent in Italian has improved (according to a friend from Naples). My advice is to not use the script. It is certainly going to be more challenging trying to use this program with just the audio and no script. But if you take my advice and don't use the script, I can assure you that after a few weeks you'll not only learn how to think in Italian, Italian speakers will also begin to give your Italian pronunciation a thumbs-up.

I liked "and I shall have some peace there," so I ordered "the backyard parables" (use of lower case her own, or the editor's). I was so disappointed with "parables"--in content, design, and organization. It's heading straight to the donate pile. Inserting numerous (I almost said "endless") sidebars of information--which, by the way, aren't really sidebars when they ramble on for pages and pages, is ugly (they're all printed on a dingy gray background) and senseless (they interrupt the flow of the book, and they often have little or nothing to do with the text they interrupt). What in the world happened? Who designed this book?? It's a sad thing, as this perhaps could have been another beautiful book. My hunch: they rushed it.

How could I not love, at least a little and maybe much, a book whose cover shows a frog (leopard?) contemplating the right earlobe of a Buddha or whose first chapter includes the story of the deep snow rescue of a pond of frogs. The de-icer, it seems, failed. Froggies might suffocate if the pond froze well & truly. Into the winter snows went Margaret Roach, equipped primarily with a cellphone flashlight and ready to flop on her belly, unsure of the pond circumferences, sticking her bare hand into electrical stuff to disarm the current, and then whacking away at the ice. A fine story, well-told, but a parable?In "The Backyard Parables," Margaret Roach describes her works and days in her country home through the four seasons. This usually is a tried-and-true framework for books about gardening as well as for books about Gardening as a Metaphor for Life. Usually, such a book is linear and makes for an easy-to-follow story line, reminding us, perhaps of Thoreau's "Walden."Not so here. Think matrix where the story is episodic, horizontal, revealed from season to season. Consider, for example, the woodchuck. The woodchuck does its thing in spring, eating the sprouts of the peas down to the ground. Our heroine, alerted by its whistling and the vanished seedlings, tracks it to an opening likely to be its den, plans to set a trap. Next paragraph is off on an utterly unrelated topic. Many pages onward, in a later season, the rodent reappears in several pages of failed trapping efforts, followed again by another set of thoughts entirely. And in a third season we have even more on the by now very fat fellow in a riff on neighbors who have trapped successfully and on the impossibility of ridding the woods of woodchucks. Really, why bother, and what are the relative claims of chucks and men? Thus, across seasons, an interesting story that can be read as a parable without too much stretching.Within seasons, however, thought follows thought fractually, like a conversation with some one whose mind leaps from idea to musing to facts to riffs connected in ways many of us can't understand. "What," we may say, "made her think of THAT next? Where's the sense in all this sensibility?"Reading Roach can be like reading "Finnegan's Wake." Joyce's language can be gorgeous, the wordplay sometimes impenetrable but rarely dull, yet where "Finnegan's Wake" is going & what's the meaning(s) still a puzzlement to scholars and a barrier to readers who can say "Why bother?" or choicer epithets. "The Backyard Parables" can seem like this. It is part autobiography, part observations, part fillers of culinary and horticultural sidebars, part continuing stories of country living and familiar characters from earlier books, such as Roach's cat, Jack. The sidebars include Garden Design 101, Look Out the Window; The Politics of Seed Shopping; Seed Shopping Rules: You Can't Have It All;and Why I Grow Hybrids & Beirlooms---and that is just from Chapter 1, winter. Thus "The Backyard Parables" is likely to be zero stars to readers who can't stand this style and five stars to readers who find the idea-bytes provocative, charming, Anne-Tyler-like good reading.OK: so this calls for a diff'rent kind of reading where the continuities are across the seasons for the main themes, associated, I think with Myself, My Family & Friends; Animals; and Plants. The lessons may come more from animal than plant life: the complexity of family relations, the human/animal balances in woodchucks and the deer, and with romance and near-death of some highly individualized frogs. There is, to be fair, plenty on plants, such as readiness for survival or thrival among transplants and on the matter of weeds in the compost. Yes, at times the writing reaches for wit and grasps cute; at times, the six synonyms for one verb seems too transparently "I promised 250 pages"; at times the fractals get overly fractured.Yet if the reader is willing to deal with this, or even is pleasantly challenged by it, the gain is worth the pain. Perhaps to those brought up on texting and blogs, there may be no pain at all, in which case, this may be your joyous read for the winter season. Dismay at style and format for those brought up more on Vita Sackville-West's gardening books or better still for lessons on gardening and life, Thoreau, think again before you buy.

I was very intrigued to hear about the author on a gardening blog, and had to buy the book. She left a high powered career in the city to live in the country and garden. It is a wonderful, insightful book, written loosely in a seasonal form. Not only is it very fascinating just to read about her everyday life with its struggles and joys, but she also offers practical advice. I loved reading about her experiences with potted plants and am going to use some of her ideas in my own garden.Highly recommend this to anyone who likes to garden or is looking at finding a little peace in their life.

Margaret writes about the real life of trying to be a good steward of the land! This is not only informative but written with humor and story like way. I am also a retired woman that never had the time to tackle landscaping, pruning, building things with my hands ( can't hit a nail straight but think I can tackle anything, Boy did I relate to her tales of sometimes your mind and brain doesn't get the message that you may dream it but you might not keep in mind your body! I love gardening and laughed all through this book because Margaret Roach talks directly to the reader and makes her stories of victory and defeat like a talk over a cup of tea!

I really enjoyed this gardening book- offering advice but not boring like a textbook. Rather, it felt as if I was sitting across the table sipping tea with an old-time friend. I enjoyed it much more than the previous book, but that is due to the heavy concentration on gardening in this one.

As a followup to her first book, this one is really great. The first inspired me to think about gardening and this one has really gotten me enthusiastic about it! Some of her lessons/parables are really helpful in planning the garden of my dreams!

Cesar Millan's non-aggresive ways to dog training work very well for me. I have his other books in addition to this and I use them daily. Very Helpful!

I was hesitant to purchase How to Raise the Perfect Dog after reading the reviews that said the book was mostly old stories from Mexico, lacked specifics, and relied on lessons from older dogs in the pack. After reading the entire book, it was clear that the people who wrote those negative reviews hadn't really read the book. There were a couple of stories about Cesar's time growing up in Mexico and Cesar does point out how older dogs teach puppies in their pack, but everything was in the context of how anyone can apply these experiences and principles. I found plenty of specific guidelines and tips, which I am using now. I also read the New Skete Monks' book and found the two books to be complementary. Thanks to these two enjoyable and informative books, our 4 month old pup is well on his way to being a perfect dog!

Love it! Ceasar Milan really does live up to all the hype. I have a 10 month old bully who weighs at a whopping 85lbs 2 shih tzus both at 7 and 7 1/2 years with his tips and training method the jumping, excessive barking, fighting for territory and just the plain acting out has come to an immediate if not eventual halt. They dont walk me anymore we walk together. This has really helped me to have a more peaceful well balanced home. It's truly a page turner and very easy to understand. I dont yell and I dont need to be overly anxious to get my point across. Thank you so much. It's been almost 3 weeks and we have all come a long way. I enjoy them more and they all feel and know their purpose.

I found it helpful, but I needed something with better explanation of how to train. I'm finding it easier with the book 'Teach your dog 100 english words'. Cesar's book had too much story going on in it and not enough help in how precisely to train.

Great book, easy read and it has changed our lives as we raise our puppies.Thank you Cesar - only wished we picked up this book before we even got our puppies as there is so much knowledge and helps us also understand our puppies behavior and how we can make their lives and our lives all the more better.Both of us were able to read in less than a week and now we have a much happier and healthy household - highly recommend this book for anyone who wishes to get a puppy, already has a puppy or even has an adolescent dog.

It's not an itemized instruction book like I thought it would be. Instead, it's a collection of a few stories of Cesar's experiences working with a few different dogs. His insight is VERY helpful but the title of the book makes it seem like he'd give a set of instructions rather than a telling of stories.

This is the Bible for dog owner! I follow Cesar's steps to raise my puppy, and now I got my perfect dog.

Great if you have a pack of previously trained dogs to teach the new puppy but of no value to someone who is a first time owner like me.

Very challenging series to review. Book one, especially, needed an editor. Either I got used to the issues by book 3 or the writing style improved significantly.It is difficult at times to visualize this unique world because of poor prose, which is frustrating because this is so unique that you really want to be able to visualize the story as it plays out. If ever a book needed illustration, this is it. In the end I have settled on Assayers looking like Ents with bejeweled heads and Veroth looking like clouds with two silver beads floating in them... but I still can't visualize Fragments.Ingram and Corina are probably the main reason I read on when inarticulate world building frustrated me. Their romance is muted, thankfully, so it doesn't detract from the story. Their characters are wholly unique, especially Ingram. I have never met a less heroic hero! Yet, instead of hating him, I just scoffed at him - he is useless and mostly he knows it. No inexplicable superhuman powers or abilities ever happen his way. Yet he is not completely a bumbling idiot getting in the way.Corina isn't especially special but somehow that works too. My favourite thing about her is that she is an independent woman and she doesn't feel the need to say it - just be it. She doesn't need a man to be powerful, she isn't obsessed with her appearance or what the world thinks of her. She isn't rude and arrogant disguised as powerful. She's just a hardworking girl doing the best that she can because she has to. No excessive angst and drama, nothing.All in all, so many good things about this series that it probably deserves at least rounding up to a 4. Except that it can be too difficult to read and understand and therefore fully visualize and immerse yourself in the adventure.

Delighted I happened upon the first book and couldn't stop reading until all three had been enjoyed to the last word.

I found this trilogy through Amazon for 99 cents. After having read it, I would buy the hardcover books for 99 dollars (especially if signed). Clever, sardonic, and plenty of twists arhat did not happen in the places I predicted they would. Corina and Ingram are refreshing and I am so glad their relationship was not the focus for the books, but instead, a stabilizing foundation for the reader to gather themselves for the next adventure. I absolutely recommend this series to anyone that wants a breather from the heaviness of other authors. Read these books to get that feeling of completion that one cannot get from other “popular“ series these days.

Corina was digging for hues when Imperial soldiers appeared, bored a hole into the ground and sent the emperor's Hound in to search for a Rune. Corina found it later that night and it started her life of freedom, danger, war and love.the characters have lots of personality. lots of jumping around, so occasionally it gets overwhelming to follow them from place to place but worth it.

Enjoyed the books as they kept my interest. Not all books do

I liked this story- it was interesting right to the end. It was a fast read, which I appreciate. The setting is unique, along with the characters and magics. I am giving this trilogy a five-star review in spite of the fact that the two main characters were consistently whiners and complainers with victim mentalities throughout the three books. The story and setting were good enough to make up for their immature attitudes.

Did not keep me going. I had to force myself to finish.

I have not finished the series, I have not finished the first book. I have been reading it for a few months.It started out very well and then slowed down to a crawl. I am continuing to read it, a chapter here and a chapter there but it is currently not a book not a book you can not put down.
